Practice Information

What is Primary Care?

Primary Care Providers are Physicians and Nurse Practitioners committed to providing and coordinating your care from prevention to diagnosis of diseases. These providers have expertise in treating patients in an office setting, hospital or continuing care facility. These medical professionals provide care for minor illnesses such as aches, pains, flu and for a wide variety of conditions and diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol.

After Hours
If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency department.

A provider is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for medical issues that cannot wait until the office reopens.  Please call our main number and the answering service will contact the provider on call.

If your medical concern is urgent in nature and occurs outside of our normal business hours, we recommend evaluation at a nearby urgent care center.

Prescription refills can be requested quickly and easily through the Patient Portal.

For prescription refills, please provide:

  • pharmacy contact information (name, phone, fax)

For referrals, please provide:

  • patient’s name
  • date of birth
  • specialist’s name, test or service
  • Insurance plan and ID number
  • Reason for referral

Please allow 1-2 business days (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) for the prescription or referral request to be processed.

Insurance and Claim Forms
We participate with most insurance plans and will submit claim forms on your behalf. For your protection, and to assure accurate billing, please bring your insurance card and identification with you to each visit. Please notify us promptly of any changes in your name, insurance coverage or contact information.

Our staff will discuss co-pays and other payment responsibilities with you.

Co-pays and payments for office visits are expected at the time of service. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards, cash or personal check.

If you have a managed care plan, referrals are required to see specialists and for certain diagnostic test and procedures.

Please feel free to discuss any insurance questions with our staff.

Hospital Admissions/Specialists
Our practice is proud to be privately owned and operated.  Should patients need hospitalization, our Physicians and Nurse Practitioners aim to collaborate with your care team to facilitate your admission and discharge to and from the hospital.  We will work with your specialists and other clinicians to provide you with the care you need.

While we have admission privileges to the Abington- Jefferson Hospital network, we will gladly work with medical providers from any healthcare system.

When you are discharged, we encourage you to contact our office to schedule an appointment to update your medication list and answer any questions you may have regarding your hospitalization.   You should bring your hospital discharge instructions and copies of any tests you had done while you were in the hospital.
